How Do We Stop This? Because This Thing Is Serious. We Have To Do Something More…
Why is there no one that they’ll speak to before it gets to this point? We have got to reach out more, listen more, talk more, be less judgmental, love more and be more caring to one another. And with all this? Sadly, we probably will not be able to save everyone. But something needs to be done, when we live in a world, where so many people are committing suicide. At the very least? We need to talk about it.
I knew someone that jumped off a roof in 2016 in Mississippi. He was young (early 20’s) & in the military. I saw his pain, but did not know how to help him. I also knew that he was fighting issues that had built-up in his young life & sadly he never got the help he really needed a long time ago. He was also in a relationship, that was pushing him closer & closer to his breaking point. This young man was no longer engaging in sanity. He was lost, scared, paranoid, and unraveled. His life was really a living hell. How do you help someone going through this? Many will not listen, you maybe told it’s none of your business, you can make matters worse, you can be alienated, your interference may help, and you could be their rock & they still take their life. I rarely saw this young man & whenever I did, it was briefly. Sadly, when I heard he ended his life, I was saddened, but not surprised.
I had an ex that tried to hang himself. I was there & was able to save him. But he refused to get the help he needed then & now. Often, I wonder if he’ll do it again one day. He’s still so lost within himself & past/current traumas. He refuses to seek help, for he’s scared of the stigmas attached. So he suffers in silence…
Suicide doesn’t care what age, race, or sex you are. It a simply has one agenda, and that’s to destroy your life and those who love & care about you. I’ve been suicidal when I was younger. Because life had beaten me so badly, I had made so many mistakes, caused pains I couldn’t erase, had no love anywhere and felt that I was a useless existence. I couldn’t understand why was I being treated so poorly from creation until that point. I really was at a place where I thought death seemed to make sense. But deep inside I knew that wasn‘t the answer and that my thoughts weren’t healthy. Fortunately for me, I was able to find a way to deter my thoughts from that type of toxic mentality. But it took work and time.
THOUGHTS, CHOICES, OPTIONS, ENVIRONMENTS, PEOPLE…All of these need to be addressed when one is contemplating suicide and more. But the major focus in my opinion, is the mental state & condition of an individual. This is vital. Because usually, by the time one is thinking about suicide, their mental state is already poor. We have been losing people to suicide, for quite a while. We need to try & find better answers and solutions.

Think for a minute, about those that don’t make the news…Our family, friends, loved ones, and those who are no longer here in the physical existence of things. This could easily be you, me, them, we…This is us. There has to be a way out of this abyss. WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT…
